The 2018 Birds & Blooms Photo Contest is now closed for entries and the judges are currently making their decisions on the winners.
Birds & Blooms is a popular backyard birding and gardening magazine in the United States. Each year they hold a photography contest where people can submit their very best backyard bird, butterfly and garden images. Given the popularity of the magazine, it’s little surprise that they get a huge number of entries for the competition. In 2017 Birds and Blooms received more than 9000 photos to judge in the contest. Needless to say, to have a chance of winning you need to submit something that extra special and unique that will grab the judges attention.
There are three categories to enter photos in:
- Birds
- Blooms
- Butterflies
The judges select 4 images in each category as the finalists, which is then narrowed down to a final winner after opening up the voting to website visitors.
You do not have to be a subscriber to enter the Birds and Blooms photo contest! As long as you’re located in the USA.
The grand prize winner receives a $1000 cash prize.
The 2017 winner was a superb photo of a hummingbird using a backyard fountain birdbath.
